Cafe Manager, Job Vacancy

The Fellowship Café Harwood Methodist Church Café manager An exciting new post to manage and grow the Fellowship Café in Harwood Methodist Church. The café is a safe space offering a warm welcome, the opportunity to meet up with others from the local community and enjoy a tasty light meal or snack. Whilst income generation is important the café is more about serving the needs of the local community. The Café Manager will lead a team of up to 40 volunteers who prepare and serve food as well as chat to café customers. You’ll be responsible for organising rotas, recruiting and training volunteers as well as ensuring compliance with statutory food safety and health and safety regulations. You’ll need to balance managing and developing the work of the Fellowship Café with, when necessary, being hands on preparing and serving food. The Fellowship Café is a ministry of Harwood Methodist Church and whilst we are an equal opportunities employer there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian or sympathetic to the Christian faith. This is initially a term time (based on the school holiday pattern of local schools) only position for 5 hours 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday). There is the opportunity to grow the hours subject to budget and the recruitment of additional volunteers. Hourly rate £11.50 per hour.
